"Where there is no struggle, there is no strength" ~Oprah Winfrey
This assignment was one of my least favorite assignments of the year. I'm self conscious about my (terrible) signing ability, so this assignment already starts off on the wrong foot. However, I had most of the problems with the lyrics. The difficulty in finding a topic that isn't ridiculous, but still can make elegant, or at least workable, rhymes, was the hardest part, and the part I spent most time on. Actually coming up the the chord scheme was incredibly easy, but fitting it with the tempo of the rhythm took some time. Finally, I switched to a simpler chord series and stopped struggling. I felt I didn't learn much in the assignment, except that I'm even worse at singing than I thought. However, I suppose for an English class that experiences as many new things as possible, it was worth struggling through, just for the sake of trying something new.
